Born and raised in Kefallonia, Maria is an accomplished legal professional with extensive experience in the maritime and yachting sectors. She has served as the Managing Partner and Director of SOS Yachting Greece since April 2023, playing a key role in guiding the company’s operations and strategic direction. Prior to this, Maria was a Legal Advisor and Data Protection Officer at A1 Yacht Trade Consortium S.A., offering essential legal guidance on yacht transactions and registrations, charter licenses, and corporate structuring. Maria’s expertise was developed through her early career roles at the Tsakos Group of Companies and Contships Management Inc., where she specialized in maritime law, shipping finance, and S&P transactions. She holds an LL.B., a BA in Political Science and Public Administration, and an MSc in Shipping, Trade, and Finance from Cass Business School, earned with a full scholarship from the Maria Tsakos Foundation. Beyond her current role, Maria is a co-founder and Board of Directors member of HCPY Greece. She is also a Certified Data Protection Officer accredited by TÜV Austria Hellas and an active member of the Piraeus Bar Association.
